DVRecipe
DVRecipe is a Windows application for analysing Emerson DeltaV
batch recipe configuration contained in FHX export files. It
provides engineering views of recipe structure, Phase usage and
parameter relationships through Procedures, Unit Procedures,
Operations and Phases.
Key Features
- Analyse DeltaV batch recipe configuration directly from exported FHX files.
- Load and combine multiple FHX files in a single analysis.
- Automatically retain the latest revision when the same configuration object occurs in multiple loaded FHX files.
- Browse Procedures, Unit Procedures, Operations and referenced Phases in a structured recipe hierarchy.
- Identify where Phase Classes are used throughout the loaded recipe hierarchy.
- Analyse recipe and Phase parameters, including configured current values, limits and engineering units.
- Trace deferred parameter mappings through multiple recipe levels.
- Identify constant and operator-supplied Phase parameters.
- Follow end-to-end parameter chains from recipes through steps to their final recipe or Phase Class parameter.
- Filter and sort Phase Usage, Parameters and Parameter Chains to focus on specific configuration.
- Generate graphical recipe diagrams showing recipe structure, parameters and parameter relationships.
- Generate diagrams from a complete Procedure or from a selected Unit Procedure, Operation or Phase.
- Copy recipe diagrams to the Windows clipboard or export them as scalable SVG graphics.
- Export recipe, Phase usage and parameter analysis results to Excel.
- Operate completely offline.
Designed for DeltaV Batch Engineering
Parameter relationships in complex DeltaV batch recipes can
extend through several recipe levels before reaching the
parameter that ultimately supplies or receives the value.
Reviewing these relationships directly in exported FHX
configuration can be time-consuming and difficult to follow.
DVRecipe resolves the loaded recipe hierarchy and presents
Procedures, Unit Procedures, Operations and Phases together
with their parameter relationships. Deferred mappings can be
followed through multiple levels, while constant and
operator-supplied parameters are identified at their
destination.
Recipe definitions and Phase Class definitions may be loaded
from separate FHX files. DVRecipe resolves relationships
across all loaded files and indicates when a referenced
definition has not been loaded.
Recipe Diagrams
DVRecipe can generate a graphical representation of the
selected recipe hierarchy. Recipe and Phase parameters are
displayed within their corresponding objects and parameter
mappings are shown graphically between recipe levels.
Diagrams can be generated for an entire Procedure or for a
selected Unit Procedure, Operation or Phase. Constant and
operator-supplied Phase parameters are explicitly identified.
Diagrams can be copied to the Windows clipboard for use in
other applications or exported as scalable SVG graphics for
documentation and engineering reports. SVG graphics can be
opened in web browsers, Microsoft Visio and other vector
graphics applications.
Excel Analysis
Analysis results can be exported to an Excel workbook for
further review, filtering and engineering documentation.
Exported information includes recipe structure, Phase usage,
parameter information and end-to-end parameter chains.
Numeric REAL and INTEGER parameter values and limits are
exported as numeric Excel values, allowing them to be used
directly in calculations and further analysis.
Portable Windows Application
DVRecipe does not require installation. Download the ZIP file,
extract all files to a folder of your choice and run

Engineering Responsibility
DVRecipe analyses exported FHX configuration and does not
connect directly to or modify a running DeltaV system.
Analysis results depend on the configuration included in the
loaded exports and on the FHX constructs recognised by the
application.
Absence of an item from the analysis must not be interpreted
as confirmation that the item does not exist in the DeltaV
configuration. Analysis results should always be reviewed
and validated before being used for engineering, test,
validation or production activities.
