Designed for DeltaV Engineering

DeltaV FHX exports can contain thousands of configuration objects, and conventional text comparison tools can produce large numbers of differences when objects have moved, generated identifiers have changed, or nested configuration has been reordered.

DVCompare analyses the structure of the FHX configuration and matches recognised objects using their engineering identity. This helps distinguish genuine configuration changes from differences caused only by the physical representation of the FHX export.

The comparison can be used with Recipes, Module Classes, Phase Classes, Function Block Definitions and other DeltaV object types.

Detailed Comparison

For each changed object, DVCompare provides several levels of detail:

• Header Properties – changes to properties defined on the object header.
• Body Properties – changes to recognised properties within the object hierarchy.
• FHX Differences – the detailed source-level changes within the matched object.

Blank values and unavailable properties are distinguished explicitly, making Added, Removed and Changed values easier to interpret.

HTML and Excel Reporting

Comparison results can be exported for review, documentation or engineering records.

The HTML report provides a structured standalone comparison that can be opened in any modern browser. The Excel report provides separate worksheets for the comparison summary, changed objects, header properties, body properties and detailed FHX differences.

Report generation is performed locally and does not require an Internet connection or Microsoft Excel installation.

Portable Windows Application

DVCompare does not require installation. Download the ZIP file, extract all files to a folder of your choice and run DVCompare.exe.

Licensing

DVCompare is commercially licensed on a per-user basis. A standard licence is valid for one year and includes a seven-day grace period following expiry.

Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.

A licence is assigned to an individual user but is not tied to a specific computer. The licensed user may therefore use DVCompare on multiple computers, subject to the applicable licence terms.

A DVCompare licence is separate from a DVXtract licence.
