# DVRecipe

DVRecipe is a Windows application for analysing Emerson DeltaV batch recipe configurations contained in FHX export files.

DVRecipe provides three main engineering views:

* Recipe Structure - Procedures, Unit Procedures and Operations with their referenced sub-recipes and phases.
* Phase Usage - where Phase Classes are used within the loaded recipe hierarchy.
* Parameter Analysis - parameter mappings and end-to-end parameter chains through recipes, steps and phases.

DVRecipe is developed and distributed by Mavabe Technical Consultancy B.V., trading as Batch-A.

## INSTALLATION

DVRecipe is supplied as a portable application and does not require installation.

1. Extract the complete contents of the DVRecipe ZIP file to a folder of your choice.
2. Keep DVRecipe.exe and all supplied DLL files together in the same folder.
3. Run DVRecipe.exe.

Do not run DVRecipe directly from inside the ZIP file.

The release is self-contained; a separate Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime installation is not required.

## LICENSING

DVRecipe requires a valid licence. Licences are validated offline and are not tied to a specific computer. The signed licence Product must be DVRecipe.

The selected licence is stored under the user's Batch-A/DVRecipe application-data folder.

## USING DVRecipe

1. Start DVRecipe.exe.
2. Select one or more FHX files using Open FHX...
3. Review Recipe Structure to inspect recipe-to-recipe and recipe-to-phase relationships.
4. Review Phase Usage to identify where phases are used within the recipe hierarchy.
5. Review Parameter Analysis > Parameters to inspect parameter mappings through Procedures, Unit Procedures, Operations and phases.
6. Review Parameter Analysis > Chains to inspect end-to-end parameter paths through the recipe hierarchy.
7. Use View Diagram to inspect a graphical representation of the selected recipe and its parameter relationships.
8. Export the analysis to Excel when required.

Recipe and Phase Class definitions may be loaded from separate FHX files. DVRecipe resolves relationships across all loaded FHX files and indicates when a referenced definition has not been loaded.

When the same configuration object occurs in multiple loaded FHX files, DVRecipe uses the latest revision selected by the shared BatchA.DeltaV.Fhx object resolver.

## PARAMETER ANALYSIS

DVRecipe analyses DeltaV batch parameter configurations including FORMULA_PARAMETER, STEP_PARAMETER, ATTRIBUTE_INSTANCE and BATCH_PHASE_PARAMETER constructs.

Deferred step parameters are traced through DEFERRED_TO mappings. Constant and operator-supplied step parameters are treated as terminal parameter mappings and are resolved against the corresponding parameter configuration in the referenced child definition.

Where available in the exported configuration, parameter analysis includes configured current value, low limit, high limit and engineering units.

The Parameters view presents the recipe hierarchy horizontally:

Procedure -> Unit Procedure -> Operation -> Phase

Each level shows the applicable step or definition, parameter, limits, engineering units and current value.

Enumeration values containing both an Enumeration Set and String Value are displayed as:

SET:VALUE

The Parameters, Phase Usage and Chains views support ascending and descending sorting and Excel-style value filtering. Filters can be applied to multiple columns simultaneously. The available values in a filter reflect filters already applied to other columns. Blank values are represented as (Blanks).

The Chains view follows parameter mappings through multiple recipe levels to their final recipe or Phase Class parameter. Chains may therefore show paths through Procedures, Unit Procedures and Operations to Phase Class parameters.

## RECIPE DIAGRAM

View Diagram provides a graphical representation of the selected recipe hierarchy, including Procedures, Unit Procedures, Operations and Phases.

Parameters associated with each recipe level are displayed within the corresponding diagram node. Where available, current values, configured limits and engineering units are shown.

Parameter mappings are shown as connections between the corresponding parameters. Constant and operator-supplied Phase parameters are explicitly identified as CONSTANT and OPERATOR.

The complete diagram can be copied to the Windows Clipboard as an image for pasting into applications such as Microsoft Paint, Word or Outlook.

The diagram can also be exported as SVG using Export SVG.... SVG export preserves the diagram as vector graphics and is suitable for importing into vector-capable applications, including Microsoft Visio.

## EXCEL EXPORT

DVRecipe can export the analysis to an Excel workbook.

The exported workbook includes the analysed recipe structure, phase usage, parameter information and parameter chains. The Parameters worksheet follows the same horizontal Procedure -> Unit Procedure -> Operation -> Phase organisation used by the application.

## IMPORTANT

DVRecipe analyses exported FHX configuration. Results depend on the configuration included in the loaded exports and on the FHX constructs recognised by the parser and analyser.

FHX exports may contain configuration constructs or formatting variants that are not recognised by the current version of DVRecipe. Absence of an item from the analysis must not be interpreted as confirmation that the item does not exist in the DeltaV configuration.

DVRecipe does not connect directly to or modify a running DeltaV system.

Users remain responsible for reviewing and validating analysis results before acting on them.

DVRecipe is an independent Batch-A product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Emerson Electric Co. or its affiliates.
